Obituary

BEVERLY: Leo J. Kopacki, 90, formerly of Hannah Village, Beverly, died early Sunday morning, May 6, 2007 in the Harborside Healthcare, Cedar Glen in Danvers. He was the husband of Olive L. (Sears) Kopacki.
Born in Amsterdam, New York on November 17, 1916, he was the son of the late Leo J. and Lottie (Kosmider) Kopacki. He had resided in Middleton for many years before moving to Beverly in 1992.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he served with Company C 57th Signal Battalion and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. He was honorably discharged as a First Sergeant in June of 1945.
Leo was employed as a supervisor with the former New England Telephone Company for thirty-three years before retiring in February of 1979.
He was a fifty year member of the Augustus P. Gardner Post #227, American Legion in Middleton and a member of the Amity-Mosaic Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Danvers.
In addition to his wife of sixty-one years, he is survived by a sister, Frances Agosta of Amsterdam, NY and two nieces, Ann Fabozzi of Amsterdam, NY and Marilyn DiBlasi of Boynton Beach, FL.
His funeral services will be held on Wednesday in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Manchester-by-the-Sea at 2 P.M. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. Expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Cedar Glen Resident Council Fund, 44 Summer Street, Danvers, MA 01923. Arrangements are under the direction of the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly.
