Obituary

Edwin T. Nadeau, of Woburn, formerly a resident of Winchester for over 40 years, passed away on May 3rd at New England Medical Center in Boston following a long illness. Born in Eastport, Maine, he was the son of the late Edwin T. and Beatrice (Spiller) Nadeau. He was a graduate of Loyola High School in Townsend, MD with the class of 1953, Boston College class of 1957 and New England School of Law class of 1963.

During his years in Winchester, he had a private practice accounting firm and was active in the community. Ed enjoyed membership in the Winchester Rotary Club, where he forged many friendships and was treasurer for 15 years. He was also a member of St. Mary’s Church there.

Ed was a kidney recipient, selflessly donated by his daughter, Jane. At his retirement party from the Winchester Rotary Club, the organization presented Jane with the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow, as it had been already been bestowed upon her father years earlier.

Ed was the beloved husband of Patricia E. (Day) Nadeau and the loving father of Ann L. Clark of Roanoke, VA, Paul E. of Kingston, NH, Mark E. of Medford, and Jane F. Bates of Woburn. He was also dear brother of Frank W., Joseph E., Mary V. Slavinsky and John A. Nadeau, all of FL. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Nicholas, Daniel and Thomas Nadeau, Keith and Heather Clark and Zachary Bates. Mr. Nadeau’s Funeral will be held from the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St. Winchester on Mon., May 7 at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, Winchester at 10AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours are Sun from 5-8PM. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made Tufts-NE Med.
