Johnson of Brockton, May 1, 2007, Eldon J. “Eldy” Johnson, 80 years. Loving husband for 56 years of Claire M. (Anderson) Johnson. Cherished father of Leslie Nardi and her husband Michael of Brockton and the late Lynne Johnson. “Papa” of Michael and James Nardi. Brother of Mabel Gustafson of Maine and the late John and Herbert Johnson and Caroline Burrell.

Funeral Service in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Monday at 10am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday 4-8 pm. Obituary


Eldon J. “Eldy” Johnson, 80 years died Tuesday evening at the Brockton Hospital after a lengthy battle with lung cancer. He was born in Brockton, a son of the late John and Caroline (Perkins) Johnson. He remained a life long resident of the city. During WW II he left Brockton High School in his junior year to enlist in the US Army. He served as a medic in Japan. In 1989 he retired from Bay State Gas after 40 years of service. In his retirement he worked part time at Halifax Country Club. He was a 50 year member of the Vega Club and a member of the Utilities Workers Union of America AFL-C10 Local 273. He enjoyed golf and working around his yard.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Claire M. (Anderson) Johnson, a daughter, Leslie Nardi and her husband Michael of Brockton, his two grandsons, Michael and James Nardi, a sister, Mabel Gustafson of Maine and many nieces and nephews


He was the father of the late Lynne Johnson and brother of late John and Herbert Johnson and Caroline Burrell.
