Evelyn White Hutchinson, 76, of Tifton died Thursday, May 3, 2006, at her residence following a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Olin Hamlin and Rev. Eddie Allen will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Lance White, Robby Thacker, Al Yearty, Jimmy Coleman, Jimmy Davidson and Russ Dorman will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 4, 2007, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Hutchinson was born on December 21, 1930 in Tift County and was the daughter of Clarence Alford White, deceased, and Grace Estelle Marchant White of Tifton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Rogers Hutchinson; three sons, Harold Rogers Hutchinson, Jr., John Douglas Hutchinson, and Ray David Hutchinson; one grandson, Harold Rogers Hutchinson; and one brother, Robert Clarence White. She was a lifelong resident of Tifton and was retired from Federal Land Bank and was employed for several years by the Tift County Board of Education. She graduated from Tifton High School and was a long-time member of Zion Hope Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend.
Mrs. Hutchinson is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Grace Hutchinson Webb and her husband, Gene, of Tifton; one step-son, Rodney Hutchinson of Texas; one daughter-in-law, Sherrie Goodrich of Woodstock; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Edna White Yearty and her husband, Billy, of Auburndale, Florida; one brother and sister-in-law, J. H. and June White of Tifton; one sister-in-law, Betty Hutchinson Braswell of Tifton; three grandchildren, Darrel Webb, Tonya Webb, and Zack Webb and his wife, Dinah; two great grandchildren, Kathleen Murphy of Dayton, Ohio; and Oliviah Webb of Tifton; two nieces, Beth White Thacker of Tifton and Creela Yearty Coleman of Winter Haven, Florida; and two nephews, Lance White of Tifton and Al Yearty of Gainesville, Florida.
