Mr. Herbert E. Tibbetts Sr., age 74 died Wednesday May 2, 2007 in Medford at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Born in Winchester, Herbert was the beloved son of the late Josephine R. (Marson) & Anton N. Tibbetts.
Herbert was a lifelong Medford resident. A US Coast Guard veteran, he served from Oct. 1950 to Oct. 1953. He worked as a supervisor for the Nissen Bakery Company in Medford for many years. In his retirement Herbert enjoyed spending much of his time with his grandchildren and his entire family.
Herbert is survived by his beloved wife Dorothy (Avinelli) Tibbetts. Devoted father of Richard Tibbetts and his wife Sandy of Tewksbury, Virginia Tibbetts, Herbert E. “Gino” Tibbetts Jr. both of Medford, Sandra Tibbetts of Woburn. Also survived by 8 loving grandchildren. Brother of Denise Bernson of South Carolina, and Ernest G. Hall of Wisconsin. Nephew of Jayne Carroll of Hudson.
A funeral service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Friday at 7 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 thru 7. Interment private.
