Obituary

WORCESTER____Natalina “Natie” Rose (Gallo) Armendo, 83, of Worcester, passed from the loving arms of her family into the waiting hands of the Lord and her beloved Matt on Monday April 30, in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, 55 Lake Ave. North. Cherished in life, she was surrounded by those she loved and those who loved her in return.
Natie is survived by her devoted children, her daughter, Maria Porcaro and her husband Stephen of Holden; her son, Matt Armendo and his wife Patty of Worcester; her four beautiful grandchildren, Matthew Armendo and his wife Michelle of Auburn; Jennifer Smith and her husband Ronald of Worcester; Adam Porcaro of Worcester; and Jessica Porcaro of Holden; and seven great-grandchildren, Alysha, Zachary, Matteo, Amanda, Ryan, Josh and Roger. She also leaves her brother, Paul Gallo and his wife Hazel, her sister,: Sally Verdolino, Mary LeFrancois and her husband Raymond, Lucy Florian and her husband Therrin, Anna Perrone and her husband Vincent, and her sister-in-law Delores Gallo, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. She was devoted to her husband, Matteo, who died in 1995. Her sisters, Philomena Bailey, Rose Fillipone, Josephine Rose, and brother, Carmen Gallo also predeceased her. Natie was born and raised in Worcester, one of ten children of Vincenzo “Jimmy” and Anastasia Gallo.
Natie’s life was centered around her loving family and friends. She loved music and was a talented singer. She enjoyed reading, mind puzzles, knitting and crocheting. But she was happiest when she was surrounded by those she loved. Her legacy is her devotion to family and friends and those countless good deeds she provided for all those she met. Even on her dying day, her last act in this life was to help someone else in need. To say she will be missed is not enough – no one can ever take her place. But we can all take comfort in having known and admired a truly good and gracious woman – our Natie.
The funeral will be held with a memorial Mass on Saturday May 5, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 35 Hamilton Street. The family will greet guests at St. Joseph Church.
