Obituary

Mr. Harold Adolph Kocourek, beloved husband of the late Mildred (Kolivas) died at the Courtyard Nursing Care Ceneter in Medford on April 28, 2007. He was 89 years old.
Born in Lidgewood, North Dakota on December 22, 1917, he was the beloved son of the late Adolph and Gae (Teed) Kocourek. Mr. Kocourek was a WWII US Navy Veteran, enlisting at Fargo, North Dakota, on March 20, 1940. Mr. Kocourek was stationed in Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. During his military career, he earned and was awarded the American Defence Star, the American Area Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and eleven Asiatic Pacific Stars, all of witch he was very proud. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Mr. Kocourek became an engineer for the Boston & Maine Railroad and enjoyed more than 33 years of employment, prior to his retirement. He was a long time Mason and member of the Samuel Crocker Lodge, and a longtime member of the VFW Post # 1012.
He is survived by and will be sorely missed by one son; Harold A. Kocourek, Jr. of Lynn, one daughter, Kathryn G. Kolivas of Medford, one sister; Laurleen Fatland of Clearlake, Iowa, one grandson; Robert Kocourek of Cambridge and one greatgrandson; Robert Kocourek, Jr.
