Obituary

WORCESTER-Paul Vartanian, 73 of 38 Beeching Street, Worcester died unexpectedly Sunday, April 29th surrounded by his family in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Carmela (Aveni) Vartanian. He also leaves his two devoted sons, Bruce Vartanian of Rochdale and Jim Vartanian of Holden and his beloved grandchildren, Ryan, Jaryd, Nicholas, Regan, Jim Jr. and Hannah as well as two sisters, Carol Williams of Leicester and Nancy Possiant of Florida.

Born in Worcester he was the son of Kachador F. and Gladys V. (Romkey) Vartanian. Mr. Vartanian proudly served his country as a United States Marine during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post 288. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and flew Piper Cubs as a pastime. Mr. Vartanian worked as an operating engineer for Vartan Development Corporation and had a great passion for his projects at Oak Ridge Estates and Briarcliff Estates, both in Leicester. He was respected and admired by all who knew and worked with him. Paul will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Calling hours are Thursday, May 3rd from 6:00 until 9:00 PM, with a eulogy read at 8:30 PM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be private.
