Obituary

Memorial services for Lilli Greene Thompson, 81, of Ashburn will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Perry Funeral Chapel. “Miss Lilli”, as she was so affectionally known, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2007 at her residence following a brief illness. At her request her body was donated to the Medical College of Georgia for medical research and training.

Miss Lillie was born in Crisp Co., GA. to Robert Stapleton and Edie Mae Allred Greene and had lived in Turner Co. for the past thirty six years. A member of the Ashburn First Baptist Church and a member of the Happy Sunday School Class. She was also an active member of the Joyful Messengers, Primetimers and the Adventurers Club with the Ashburn First United Methodist Church. A homemaker, Miss Lilli was retired from the Ashburn Police Dept. as a dispatcher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Aaron Thompson, a son, Wilbur Edward Thompson a sister, Lillian Wright and a brother, Johnny Greene.

Survivors include her son Greg and Penny Thompson, Ashburn, GA, a grandson, Justin Thompson, El Paso, TX, brothers, Frank Greene, Ashburn, GA, Bobby Ben (Carolyn) Greene, Arabi, GA, Palmer Edward Greene, Cordele, GA; sisters, Saloia G. Pate, Gerton, NC, Luel G. (Albert) Folsom, Nashville, GA, Geneva G. Mooney, Columbus, GA.
