WORCESTER: Robert N. "Bob" O'Brien, 87, formerly of First St. and previously of Tirrell St., died Saturday, April 28, 2007, in West Side House. His wife of 56 years, Mary J. (Madonna) O'Brien, died January 11, 2002.
He leaves a son, Francis R. O'Brien and his wife Peggy of Holden; a daughter, Donna M. Graham and her husband David of Northbridge; six grandchildren, David Graham, Jr., Colleen Graham, Elizabeth Graham, Michael O'Brien, Patrick O'Brien, Katelyn O'Brien and Liam O'Brien. He was born and raised in Worcester, son of the late N. Henry and Mary E. (Leary) O'Brien, and was a graduate of Classical High School.
Bob was the chief clerk in the mailing room at Worcester State College where he worked for 8 years, until retiring. He then worked for the Worcester Consortium for Higher Education operating a library shuttle. He last worked as a part time security guard at the Worcester Art Museum.
He was a long time member of St. Peter's Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He had also been a member of St. Peter's Parish Men's Club. He enjoyed sitting in the sun, taking long walks, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
CALLING HOURS will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 30, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1, in ST. PETER'S CHURCH, 931 Main St. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
The family suggests donations in memory of Bob be made to St. Peter's Church, 929 Main St., Worcester, MA 01610.
