Obituary

George F. Ambessi, of Medford, formerly of Somerville, died on April 26th at the Bear Hill Nursng Center in Wakefield. Born in Acme, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Joseph and Nancy (Molina) Ambessi. He was raised and educated in West Virginia. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during WWII. George was a member of the Teamsters Local 25 and was employed as a Truck Driver with Wesh’s Trucking in Somerville, where he spent most of his life before moving to Medford. In his spare time, a hobby he enjoyed was collecting trains. He was the beloved husband of Adeline (Morgida) Ambessi of Stoneham and the loving father of Catherine N. Murray of Medford and Joseph G. Ambessi of Florence, MA. George was the dear brother Maddie Ambessi and Kathryn Perritano, both of Winchester, Frank Ambessi of NJ, Charles Ambessi of RI and the late Margaret “Maggie” Sheerin. He is also survived by his grandson Gregory Daniel Murray and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held in the Bear Hill Nursing Center Chapel, 11 North St. Stoneham, on Sat., April 28 @ 10AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Woburn. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Mass. General Thoracic Cancer Research Fund, 165 Cambridge St., Boston, MA 02114-2792.
