Obituary

Salem: Guy C. Tina age 82 of Salem, died Sunday, April 22, 2007, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. He was the husband of Rita E. (Symonds) Tina with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Sparta) Tina. A veteran of World War II he served in the Philippines with the Navy. Following the war, he returned to Salem and completed his education while working for the former John Flynn Tanning Co. He had been employed by the Salem Park Department for 18 years at the time of his retirement.
Guy was a 50 year member of the YMCA who excelled at hand ball and racket ball. He loved walking and always looked forward to his regular day trips to Foxwood. A life long resident of Salem, he was a member of Ste. Anne Parish.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 sons: Robert J. Tina and his wife Joy of Lynn, Leonard G. Tina of Danvers, 2 daughters: Dianne I. Jendraszek and her husband Fred of Salem, Mary Ellen Liani of Beverly, and a sister Josephine Velardi of Andover. Guy is the grandfather of 7: Robert, Joseph & Gina Liani, Christopher & Jennifer Jendraszek, Cynthia & Emily Tina and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph Tina.
Private funeral services were held from the Levesque Funeral Home of Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice
