Obituary

LOWELL—Daniel J. King, a longtime resident of the Belvidere section of Lowell, died unexpectedly, Tuesday afternoon, November 12th, at Saints Memorial Medical Center.

He was born in Fitchburg, on July 6, 1910, a son of the late Daniel J. and Mary A. (Walsh) King, Sr., The family moved to Lowell when he was four years old and settled in the Belvidere section of the city. He was a graduate of the Immaculate Conception Grammar School and Lowell High School. He received a B.S. in Chemistry from the Lowell Textile Institute, now University of Lowell, in 1932.

Mr. King was employed by the American Hide and Leather Company for twenty-one years and various Leather Companies throughout the Northeast and Ontario, Canada. He retired from the Stockhausen Chemical Company, of Krefeld, West Germany and Greensboro, NC.

Mr. King was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church.

Surviving him are three nieces: Elaine Coppinger, and Karen Fenton, both of Taunton; And Mary Gail Houde, of Manchester, CT; a nephew: Joseph D. McCusker, of Middleboro; also several grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was the brother of the late Catherine King, Theresa McCusker, George King and Frank King.

Friends may call Thursday, November 14th, from 4 to 8 PM at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). His Funeral Mass to be offered Friday, November 15th, at 9 AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, Lowell. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
