Claire C. (Fifield) Takessian, 79, a resident of Dennisport since 1968 and a former Franklin resident, died Sunday, April 22, 2007, at the Oakland Grove Health Care Center in Woonsocket, following a long illness. She was the Wife of the late John L. Takessian, who died in 2003.
Born in E. Thompson, CT, February 26, 1928, a daughter of the late Harry and Lydia (Benson) Fifield, she was educated in Connecticut and came to Massachusetts in 1946 and settled in Franklin.
She was a retired insurance secretary having worked for the Peterson Insurance agency and the Travelers Insurance Co. in Hyannis.
She was a member of the Cape Chorus & Choraliers since 1969. She was also an active member of the Federated Church in Hyannis, Dennis Senior Citizens, The American Association of Retired Persons, and enjoyed singing with family, music and Crocheting. She and her late husband were former longtime winter residents of Beverly Hills, Florida.
She is survived by 3 sons: John L. Jr. of Blackstone, Peter H. of Plymouth and Roger C. of Hyannis, a daughter: Eileen S. Green of Bucksport, ME, 4 brothers: Paul Fifield of NH, David Fifield of VA, Franklin Fifield of FL, Kendall Fifield of CT, 5 sisters: Margaret Weatherbee of CT, her twin sister Della Lewis of CT, Harriet Chenette of CT, Elizabeth Desrosier of FL, Eleanor Pepin of CT, 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Friday, April 27, 2007, at 2:00 PM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage Street, www.franklinfuneral.com . Interment will follow in Union Street Cemetery, Franklin. Friends may call Friday from 1:00 – 2:00 PM.
