WORCESTER: Eileen A. (O'Connor) O'Day, 87, of 25 Almont Ave., died Sunday, April 22, 2007, in The Meadows of Leicester, after a brief illness. Her husband of 56 years, John F. O'Day, died March 17, 2001.
She leaves four sons, John F. O'Day, Jr. and his wife Marlene of Auburn, Robert T. O'Day of Andover, Timothy J. O'Day and his wife Theresa of Westboro, Stephen W. O'Day of Worcester; a daughter, Kathleen M. O'Day of Arlington, VA; two sisters, Rita E. Cawley of Holden, Gertrude T. O'Connor of Worcester; eight grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A sister, Mary A. Garvey of Shrewsbury, predeceased her.
Eileen was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Timothy J. and Margaret (O'Brien) O'Connor, and was a 1938 graduate of Becker Business College. She was a long time member of St. Stephen's Church where she participated in many parish activities including the Parish Guild and the Christian Family Movement. She enjoyed visiting area nursing homes with a singing group, the Jolly Jills. She also enjoyed visiting with her family and traveling to Washington, DC.
CALLING HOURS will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25, in ST. STEPHEN'S CHURCH, 357 Grafton St. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
The family suggests donations in memory of Eileen be made to St. Stephen's Parish Restoration Fund, 16 Hamilton St., Worcester, MA 01604.
