Dartmouth-Maria Esmay Jocelyn (Faria) Armando aged 84 years died Saturday April 21, at St Lukes Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Walter R. Armando. She was the loving mother of Joann E. Hamel of Fairhaven, Jocelyn Armando and her friend Donna King of New Bedford, John A. Armando and his wife Dolores of Dartmouth and Bernadette P. Galego and her husband Adilio of Fairhaven.Sister of Doreen George of Seminole Fla. Patricia Aird of Belize, Central America, Thora Silva of Manchester N.H., and Eustace B. Faria of Huntsville Alabama.She was Predeceased by her twin sister Sheila Rodrigues and her brother William Faria. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren Jeffrey Hamel, Cynthia Quigley, Robert Hamel, Dennis Hamel, Beth Armando, John W. Armando Stephanie Pomfret and Timothy Galego, and the late Christian Hamel and 10 great grandchildren, and several nieces, and nephews.
Mrs. Armando was the daughter of the late Carlotta (Moniz) and Augustine Faria. She was born in Georgetown, British Guyana, South America and lived in this area since 1943.
Mrs Armandos Funeral will be from Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St, Wednesday April 25 at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church South Dartmouth, at 9:00 A.M. Visiting hours will be from 6-8 P.M.on Tuesday Burial will be at St. John Cemetery.
