Obituary

Mr. Joseph R. Lunetta, age 82, of Woburn formerly of Winchester and Medford, died April 19th at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Anna G. (Rikeman). Born in Revere he was the son of the late Richard and Genevieve (Meola) Lunetta.

Mr. Lunetta was the former owner and operator of Joseph's Industrial Catering Company of Woburn which was founded in 1964 and is currently still in operation. Mostly devoted to his loving family Mr. Lunetta was also passionate when it came to Thoroughbred Horse Racing and over the years he owned and managed many horses. He also enjoyed traveling to the casinos and could always be found rolling the dice at the craps table. Mr. Lunetta was a former member of the Medford Elks Club and the Suffolk Downs Turf Club. He was a United States Navy Veteran of WWII.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, JoAnn Boback and her husband Edward of Reading, Christine Dyer and her husband Deric of Medford, Joseph Lunetta of Woburn, AnnMarie Milone and her husband Tony of Woburn. He is also survived by twelve loving grandchildren and five loving great grandchildren.

Funeral from the McLaughlin – Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Monday, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Patrick Church 71 Central St. Stoneham, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 2 – 4 & 7- 9. Interment will be private. Late U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Joseph’s memory to the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, c/o Dr. David Avigan, KS121, 330 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA 02215
