DRACUT - Gloria Marie (LaJeunesse) Dougherty, 65, a longtime Dracut resident, died Thursday April 19th, at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Lowell on March 29, 1942, and was the daughter of the late Alfred and Pearl (Gilman) LaJeunesse. She attended St. Joseph High School in Lowell for three years and then went on to graduate from Lowell High School.
Ms. Dougherty was employed for many years as an Administrative Assistant by Met Life Insurance Company in Tewksbury and in Lowell's Crosspoint Tower.
In her free time she enjoyed bingo, trips to Foxwoods Casino, playing cribbage and Rummy Cube with gal pals, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a communicant of St. Theresa's Church in Dracut and was a member of Cercle Jeanne Mance for over 12 years and the friendship rosary club for over 22 years.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law David M. and Yanti Dougherty of Arlington, and Steven P. and Jacquelyn Dougherty of North Chelmsford; two grandchildren Nathan Dougherty and Natalie Dougherty, both of Arlington, three step-grandchildren Joseph Santangelo of North Chelmsford, PFC. Michael Santangelo of Ft. Benning, GA, and Keri Horan of Pelham, NH; and many nieces and nephews. A dear cousin, Estelle Grande . Incredible lifelong friends Lorraine Primeau, Pauline Ralls, Elaine Molonson. A good neighbor, Doris Chalifoux and many others.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Sunday from 1 until 4PM. Her funeral will be held on Monday from the funeral home at 9 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10AM at St. Michael Church, Lowell. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
