Obituary

Ronald Roy Keniston 63, of Hanson, beloved husband of Judith-Lynn Harrison Keniston, loving father of Jennifer-Lynn Keniston of East Bridgewater and Cheryl Jean Keniston Day and her husband Spencer Dean Day of Plymouth, brother of Douglas Keniston of Brockton, Leroy Keniston of Quincy, Donna Villiard and Vickie Keniston both of New Hampshire and Debra Keniston of Braintree. He is also survived by his sister-in-laws Nancy Magee, Nancy Keniston and Linda Harrison, his brother-in-laws Glenn Villiard and Richard Harrison, his nieces & nephews Eric Magee, James Magee, Katherine Magee and Kristine Keniston McKim as well as many other nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the brother-in-law of the late Thomas Magee.

There will not be any waking hours; however, the family would like to celebrate the life of Ron beginning @ 2PM on Friday April 20, 2007, with a service led by Pastor Cindy Shepherd, at the First Congregational Church in Hanson. This service will proceed with his internment at the Fern Hill Cemetery in Hanson. Immediately following, the family is inviting all friends, family and any acquaintances of the “Little Mayor of Hanson” to re-join the family at the First Congregational Church for a reception for Ron. Ron was a long time resident and member of the Hanson Congregational Church in Hanson.
Ron had carer spanning more than 40 years working in various Produce positions, transitioning through company mergers with Tedeschi, Angelos Supermarkets Purity, Purtity Supreme and finishing his career with Stop & Shop. On May 12,1960, Ron was awarded the Eagle Scout Certification by the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Ron also was the first on the South Shore to be honored with the God and Country Award. In 1986 he and his wife began to extend their love and passion of Golden Retrievers and became breeders of their kennel "JenCheryl's Goldens" that were always "Bred with care and raised with Love" being surrounded by all his four girls Sydney, Madison and Casey, gave Ron such a purpose and love in life, especially during the last few years. Ron Loved the game of Horseshoes and was a member of the Shouth Shore Men's Horseshoes Traveling League, a member of the Hanson AA and captain of the Kingston Hilltop Traveling Horseshoe League. Through the years, Ron was active in multiple sports at the Hilltop and within the local towns. For the better part of his life, Ron played basketball & Softball in many local leagues. Ron was an official Umpire for Softball of all ages, but received an enormous amount of satisfaction from being an unpire for his childrens' games. Years ago he was a member of the Hanson Jaycees. Ron loved to play cribbage and often played at the Hanover Legion. He also loved to play bridge with his all his ladies at his Bridge Club, he loved to play all types of card games.
