George E. Makepeace, 83, of W. Broadway, Derry, NH died Saturday November 9, 2002 at the Sunbridge Nursing Home, Rochester, NH following a brief illness. He was born in Nashua, NH on February 5, 1919, a son of the late George E. and Minnie (Aubertine) Makepeace. He was a resident of Derry for most of his life, formerly living in Haverhill, MA. He was a US Armyveteran serving during World War II. He was a past member of the VFW Post #1617, Derry.
He is survived by two daughters, Sharon A. McCormick, Haverhill, MA, Carol L. Countryman, Rochester, NH, three sons, Thomas Makepeace, Michael Makepeace, both of Derry, Donnie Makepeace, New Hampshire, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one brother, Louie Makepeace, Haverhill, MA, one sister, Sandra Fortin, Newfield, ME, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife Marion G. Makepeace in 1942, two sons, Dennis E. Makepeace in 1950, George E. Makepeace Jr. in 1973 and one sister Evelyn Brown of GA.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 12, 2002 at 1:00pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Burial will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery, Hampstead Road, East Derry.
