Obituary

LEICESTER: Lawrence A. Aja, Jr., 85, of 212 Rawson St., died Friday, April
13 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He was the husband of Wynona B.
(Poirier) Aja who died in 2004.
He leaves two sons Michael L. Aja of Spencer and Patrick G. Aja and his wife
Jodi Donahue-Aja of Leicester, a sister Virginia Brousseau of Essex, Vt.,
five grandchildren Bryan Aja of Worcester, Adam Aja of Ashville, N.C.,
Nicolas Aja of Sturbridge, Jennifer Sanders and Jessica Aja of Tampa, Fl.,
two great grandchildren Alexis and Jayden Sanders of Tampa, nieces and
nephews.
Mr. Aja was director of food services, first at Leicester Junior College
which later became Becker College form 1954 to 1988, before retiring. He
also was director of food services for Y.M.C.A. Camp Morgan and Camp
Blanchard from 1958-68.
Lawrence served his country in the Army during WWII, serving in the Pacific
where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a true friend to Leicester
Junior College and the town of Leicester.
He was born in Barre, Vt., the son of Lawrence A. and Myrtle (Violette)
Aja, Sr.
Graveside services, with Military Honors will be held on Monday, April 16 at
1p.m. in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Please omit flowers,
contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Assoc., 311 Arsenal St., Watertown,
Ma. 02472. MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester is
directing arrangements.
