Dartmouth - Simone T. (Paradis) Emond, 78, of Dartmouth passed away Thursday, April 12, 2007 at home. She was the wife of the late Normand J. Emond.
Born in Westport, a daughter of the late Josep A. and Yvonne (Boucher) Paradis, she had lived in Dartmouth for most of her life. Prior to retirement, she was a seamstress at the former Cape Cod Sportswear. She was a Communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church, Dartmouth. Mrs. Emond loved traveling, cooking and working outside, taking care of her plants, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed going out to eat, shopping and dancing.
Survivors include 5 sons: Dennis A. Emond of Richmond, RI, Michael R. Emond of St. Thomas, Caribbean, Philip R. Emond of N. Providence, RI, Leonard C. Emond of N. Dartmouth and Normand J. Emond, Jr. of N. Dartmouth; a daughter: Diane L. Lundell of Norton, MA; a brother: Theodore Paradis of Philadelphia, PA; 6 sisters: Rita Conroy of North Dartmouth, Janet Barlow of North Dartmouth, Doris Emond of Freetown, Alice Corbin of OH, Claudette Garrity of Fall River and Joshette Cogswell of CA; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Richard R. Emond and sister of the late Aime Paradis, Yvonne Machado, Yvette Gagnon, Benoit Paradis, Lawrence Paradis, Raymond Paradis, Robert Paradis and Jacqueline Paradis.
Memorial Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, April 20, 2007 at St. Julie Billiart Church, Dartmouth at 10:00 A.M.
Interment will be in Sacred Heart II Cemetery, New Bedford.
