Obituary

Shrewsbury- Shreedhar D. Kamerkar, 85 retired attorney, and community advocate, died Thursday November 7, 2002 in his home suddenly.

He is survived by his son, Udayan Kamerkar, Daughter-in-Law Maneesha and two granddaughters Asavari and Renuka of Shrewsbury, with whom he lived.

Mr. Kamerkar is predeceased by his wife of 52 years Malinee (nee) Chaudhari; two brothers, P.D. Kamerkar Esq. and G.D. Kamerkar; two sisters, Bhanu Chaudhari, and Kusum Maluste.

Born in Ratnagiri, India, son of the late Judge (Divan Bahadur) D. G. Kamerkar, and Subhadra. He attended S.P. College and Deccan Law College in Pune, India.

Mr. Kamerkar was a lawyer who practiced law in the Bombay High Court for over 40 years.

Mr. Kamerkar emigrated from India in 1984. Since coming here he has been active in community affairs. He was a volunteer for the Age Center in Worcester, a senior greeter at Shrewsbury High School, he was Ombudsman of the Shrewsbury Nursing Home, and an elder in the Shrewsbury Indian community.

Mr. Kamerkar donated his body to the Anatomical Gift Department at the University of Massachusetts, Worcester. Funeral and Burial plans are private, at the convenience of the family.
