Obituary

Alma I. (Marcioni) Telesmanick, of Dartmouth died Monday April 9, 2007 at Taber Street Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Leo J. Telesmanick.

Born in Fall River, she lived in Dartmouth since 1963. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.

Alma and her husband Leo were active members of the Catboat Association. Alma did the billing while Leo did the building of the Beetle Cat boats for Concordia Company.

She was a member and past president of the Catholic Women's Club, the Monsignor Noon Circle at St. James Church, and the New Bedford District of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. Under her leadership, she hosted a tea for President-Elect John F. Kennedy and was chairwoman for the Bishop Stang High School Building Fund.

Survivors include a daughter, Jean T. Harney of New Bedford; a son, Jon L. Telesmanick of Newburgh, NY; six grandchildren, Erin Jean Martens, Amy Jane Yergeau, Anne-Marie Kerney, Sarah Louise Sullivan, Kathy Diana Wurster, and Rachel Marie Telesmanick; and several great-grandchildren.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM in St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery will be private.
