Obituary

NOANK: William Gardiner Anderson, of Noank, passed away peacefully at home March 29, 2007. He was born Dec. 29, 1917 in Noank Connecticut, to Arthur and Jessie Anderson.

He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth, and 2 older brothers, Robert and Ashby also of Noank. He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law: Tom and Lynn of Rowayton, CT. and Bob and Susie of Carbondale, CO., 4 grandsons and many nieces and nephews.

He graduated from Fitch High School and Nichols College. William and Elizabeth were married in Omaha, Nebraska in 1945. He was in the Navy, at the time, stationed in New London at the Underwater Sound Laboratory. He worked for many years in the purchasing department at Electric Boat.

William lived in only two homes his entire life. The one in which he was born on Brook St., built by his Father and the one in which he died on Latham Lane, built by his great grandfather.

"Pa", as he was known, will be dearly missed. He was a good listener and entertained all with his sense of humor.

The family wishes to thank the many friends, neighbors, relatives and caregivers that have given so much to make our difficult time easier to bear.

Hospice of S.E. Connecticut 179 Gallivan Lane P.O. Box 902 Uncasville, CT. 06382 and The Mystic-Noank Library 40 Library St. Mystic, CT. 06355 are accepting donations in his name.

Internment will be at a later date.
