Mary M. (Mello) Pereira, 88, of Dartmouth died April 5, 2007 at Our Lady's Haven after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Ernest M. Pereira.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joaquim and Mary (Medeiros) Mello, she lived in New Bedford all her life until moving to Dartmouth 20 years ago.
Mrs. Pereira was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in South Dartmouth.
She was the former proprietor of the Green Diner in New Bedford.
Mrs. Pereira did volunteer work for St. Luke's Hospital, the New Bedford Visitor's Center, and the Rotch-Jones-Duff House.
Survivors include two nieces, Jo-Ann Morris-Grime of South Dartmouth and Jane Mello of Somerville, South Carolina; and two nephews, Jonathan Mello of Weston and Joaquim "Kim" Mello III of Wisconsin.
She was the sister of the late Lillian Morris and Joaquim S. Mello, Jr.
Her Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, April 14th at 10 AM in St. John's Cemetery.
