Warren J. Joyce

...Retired M.B.T.A. Driver, WWII Navy Vet; 79

TEWKSBURY - Warren J. Joyce, 79, a veteran of both the war in Europe and the Pacific, diedWednesday evening, Nov. 6, at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell after a brief illness. Hewas the husband of Frances M. (Kelley) Joyce, who died in 1995.

He was born in Somerville, June 5, 1923, a son of the late Arthur and Mary (Dailey) Joyce. Hewas raised in Cambridge where he lived until moving to Tewksbury in 1960.

During WWII, he served in the U.S. Navy, and was deployed to Europe and later transferred tothe Pacific.

He worked for the M.B.T.A. for more than 40 years as a bus driver. He was a member of BostonCarmen’s Union Local 589.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Warren J and his wife Janette (Weber) Joyce Jr. ofBillerica, a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and her husband Fausto deCarvalho of Wrentham,two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and his wife Frances Joyce of CT, Robert and his wifeBernice Joyce of Witman, two sisters, Mildred Lally of Billerica and Alice Hoell of Tewksbury,four grandchildren, Matthew and Kristen Joyce, Adam and Sara deCarvalho, and one greatgranddaughter Hannah Joyce.

His funeral was Monday, Nov. 11, in St. William’s Church. Interment was in Tewksbury Cemetery.
