Ella Yawn Jackson, 86, of Tifton died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at Tift Health Care. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2007, at Tift Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Terrell Roberts will officiate. Burial will follow at Turner Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2007, at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Jackson was born on August 17, 1920, in Colquitt County. She was the daughter of James B. Denby and Alma Reddie Lindsey Denby, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, J.C. Yawn, who died in 1953, and Rufus Jackson, who died in 1969, and a sister, Lanell Norman.
She was a member of Tift Avenue Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Beverly Health Care.
Survivors include two sons and two daughters-in-law, James and Liz Yawn of Murrayville and Robert and Charlotte Yawn of McDonough; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Joyce and Hugh Willis of Tifton and Louise and Roy Ray of Brookfield; three brothers, Loy Denby of Monticello, Florida, Albert Denby of Tifton and Ed Denby of Atlanta,; two sisters, Ester Lee Yawn of Monticello, Florida, and Reatha Baker of Thomasville. Also, 2 Step brothers: Kermit Brooks, Tifton and Everett Brooks, Albany; 2 Step sisters: Mary Allen, and Jackie Baker, both of Tallahassee, Florida. Survivors also include 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
