Obituary

Mr. Gerard J. Tremblay, age 92, died late Thursday evening, following a brief illness. Mr. Tremblay was the husband of the late Henriette M. (Bergeron) Tremblay, with whom he was married for 64 years.
Born in Lowell, January 25, 1915 a son of the late Ferdinand Joseph and Marie Louise (Isabelle) Tremblay.
Mr. Tremblay was a lifelong Lowell resident and a communicant of the former St. Jean Baptiste Church. Mr. Tremblay volunteered weekly at the St. Jean Baptist Parish Bingo and also served on the Parish Council and St. Vincent de Paul Society for many years.
Prior to his retirement he was employed with the Lowell Housing Authority as a heating engineer supervisor for 18 years. Before that time Mr. Tremblay was employed with the Hartnett Tanning Company as a chief engineer for 11 years.
He was an avid bowler for many years in which he belonged to several bowling leagues with Brunswick of Lowell. He enjoyed working on jumble puzzles, dining out, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Jeannine M. Tremblay of Lowell, and Denise M. and Raymond Gravelle of Merrimack, NH; five sons and three daughters-in-law, Roger J. R. Tremblay, Paul J. and Marie Tremblay, all of Lowell, Richard J. and Mary Tremblay of Nashua,NH, Raymond J. and Diane Tremblay of Fitzwilliam, NH and Robert J. Tremblay of Gray, Maine; a daughter-in-law, Sue (Confort) Tremblay of Lowell; two sisters, Annette Tracy and Solange Paquet both of Lowell; two brothers, Eugene Tremblay of Nashua, NH and Louis Tremblay and his wife Marion of San Diego, CA; several cousins including Msgr. Jean Paul Gelinas, all of Quebec; fourteen grandchildren, John Tremblay, Marc Tremblay and his wife Melissa, Richard Tremblay, Jr. and his wife Anne, Christopher Tremblay and his wife Karen, Miriam Tremblay, Grace Gravelle, Karen Roe and her husband Bill, Steven Gravelle, Dr. Andrea Tremblay, Matthew, Lyndsey, Tom, Carly and Kimberly Tremblay; one great grandchild, Camille Tremblay; also many nieces and nephews including Fr. Gene Tremblay, OMI of Willimantic, Connecticut. He was also the father of the late Gerard J. Tremblay Jr. who died in 1999 and grandfather of the late Michael Bartlett.
