Mr. Gregory J. Hayes, 36, died Wednesday March 21 at his home.
He was born April 16, 1970 in Lowell, Massachusetts, graduated from Lowell High School, class of 1988, and attended San Jose State University. He most recently returned to Lowell where he was pursing a career as an energy conservation consultant. Greg was an avid New England sports fan.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Lowell.
He is survived by his loving mother, Athena(Ivos) Hayes of Lowell; a brother, Tom Hayes and his wife Estelle of San Jose, Ca.; two sisters, Joan Metropolis and her husband Chuck of Tyngsboro, Gayle Stevens and her husband Randy of Dracut; two nieces, Christa Metropolis of Tyngsboro, Elizabeth Hayes of San Jose, Ca.; three nephews, Zachary Stevens of Dracut, Samuel Hayes of San Jose, Ca., and Andrew Metropolis of Tyngsboro; his godmother Christine Themeles of Tewksbury. Also, many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Friends will be received at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St. Lowell on Sunday, March 25, from 2 to 6pm. His funeral will take place on Monday at 9am from the funeral home to be followed by services at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Lowell at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Westlawn II Cemetery.
