Obituary

LOWELL- Thomas F. King, 81 years old, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died Friday morning, March 30th at Saints Medical Center after an extended illness. He was the beloved husband of Edna R. (Boyle) King of Lowell who survives him.

He was born in Lowell on April 13, 1925, a son of the late John J. and Elizabeth A. (Burns) King, and was a graduate of the Immaculate Conception Grammar School and Lowell High School.

Mr. King served in the United States Navy during World War II aboard the U.S.S. New York. He then served several years in the Maritime Services. Upon his return to Lowell, Mr. King was employed for 30 years by the John Hancock Insurance Company as a Marketing Representative.

Mr. King was a Life Member of the Lowell Lodge of Elks and held membership in the V.F.W., the American Legion, the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and Retired member of the National Maritime Union. He was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church where he served as an usher for over 30 years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Lynn M King, of Nashua, NH; and Karen A. King of Southington, CT.; two cousins: Barbara A. King, of Billerica; and Claire A. King, of Lowell; a brother in law and his wife: Raymond T. and Alice R. Boyle, of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. King was the father of the late Mary E. King and brother of the late Eleanor M. King, Catherine K. Pisani, Mary E. King and Anne L. Dally

Friends may call from 2 until 6 PM Sunday, April 1st, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). His Funeral Mass to be offered on Monday, April 2nd, at 11 AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, Lowell. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell.
