Louise G. (Welsh) Kelly, 97 of Winchester passed away at the Aberjona Nursing Center in Winchester on March 30th, 2007. She was the beloved wife of the late Dana J. Kelly and the mother of Dana J. Kelly Jr. of Los Angeles, CA, Diane L. Sheridan of Middletown, NY and Lawrence A. Kelly of Burlington. Louise was the sister of Robert E. Welsh of South Dennis and the late Paul G., Frederick C. and Francis J. Welsh. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was born in Malden on February 7th, 1910. She lived in Malden during her younger years before moving to Winchester in 1939. Louise worked as a physical education teacher in the Cambridge Public and Malden Public School Systems for several years. She was a former member of the Ladies Sodality and the Choir at the Church of St. Mary in Winchester. After her retirement, Louise volunteered her time at the Jenks Center in Winchester and at the Winchester Hospital for several years. Visiting hours for Louise will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday April 3rd from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of St. Mary in Winchester on Wednesday April 4th at 10 AM followed by interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
