Obituary

John W. Jacobs, 83, of Webster, NH and a former resident of Windham, NH died March 27, 2007 at Concord City Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Boston MA on August 5, 1923, a son of the late John and Beatrice (Hill) Jacobs. He lived most of his life in Windham until moving to Webster three years ago to be near his daughter and her family. Prior to his retirement he was employed for many years by the former Hume Pipe Company as a tractor-trailer truck driver. After retirement he worked for the Windham town Road Agent and also for Joe Clark Trucking. Mr. Jacobs was an Army veteran of World War II. In his later years he enjoyed BINGO, Chinese food and dining out.

He is survived by a daughter, Sandra Wesoja and her husband, Robert Wesoja Sr. of Webster; 5 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; seven sisters, Elsie Menard of Rindge, NH, Katherine Rioux of Londonderry, NH, June Dunton of Fitzwilliam, NH, Dorothy Naylor of Derry, NH, Rosemary Norris and Jeanie Sanborn, both of North Carolina and Sandra Houle of Putnam, CT; two brothers, Norman Jacobs of Windham, NH and Robert Jacobs of Swanton, VT; and also nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Doris J. (Lord) Jacobs in 1988.

Calling hours were on Saturday, March 31st from 9:30 – 11 AM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A funeral ceremony was held at 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial with military honors followed in the Tyngsboro Memorial Cemetery, Tyngsboro, MA.
