Obituary

Mr. William F. O’Connor, Jr., 79, of Methuen, MA, passed away after a brief illness on March 27, 2007. Born in Lowell, MA, the son of William F. O’Connor Sr. & Josephine (Ort). He was a controller for Sears Roebuck & Co., a WWII Naval veteran and a member of the first graduating class from Merrimack College in 1951.

He was an active communicant of St. Monica’s Parish in Methuen, and a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Mr. O’Connor was an avid outdoorsman and fly fisher. He was a founding father and first President of a Trout Unlimited chapter in Concord, NH. He enjoyed woodworking and furniture making and the Boston Red Sox.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary F. (Kelly) O’Connor, and is survived by a sister, Ann (O’Connor)Raskopf of Dallas, TX, son William F. O’Connor, III and wife Elisa of Haverhill, MA, son Michael O’Connor and wife Deborah of Pepperell, MA, daughter Mary Ellen J. (O’Connor) Murphy and husband Gary of Burlington, MA and grandsons, William F. O’Connor, IV, Patrick M. O’Connor and Daniel J. O’Connor all of Haverhill, MA. He was predeceased by a sister: Josephine (O’Connor) Barnes.

His Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 30th, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Monica’s Church in Methuen, MA.

Burial will follow at the Saint Mary’s Cemetery in No. Tewksbury, Massachusetts.
