Gladys Bea Avera Jones, 85, of Tifton died Monday, March 19, 2007, at Golden Living Center. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2007, in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Rev. Terrell Roberts will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 20, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Jones was born on September 6, 1921 in Pavo and was the daughter of Luther Avera and Bessie Parker Avera, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bill Jones, who died in 1987; one infant son; and one brother. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Ms. Jones is survived by three daughters, Fran Wilson of Maryland, Linda Senkbeil of Lenox and Mary Ann Wormack of Tennessee; and several grandchildren.
