Obituary


WORCESTER- Norman A. Tisdell, Jr. May our father, grandfather, and brother rest in peace. Norman died Friday, March 16, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 77 after a long battle with Vascular Dementia. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Florence A. “Cis” (Alfreds) Tisdell; seven children, Mark Tisdell and wife Kathy of Worcester, Norman Tisdell, III and wife Marie of Webster, Lisa McCullough and husband Kevin of Ludlow, Michael Tisdell and wife Mary of Worcester, Traci O’Brien and husband Joseph of Worcester, Kim Floser and husband Ronald of Millbury, Kelley Saucier and husband Edward of Auburn, nineteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. He also leaves a brother, Joseph Tisdell of Westborough; four sisters, Dorothy Rhieu of Worcester, Dianne Driscoll of Holden, Shirley Turning of Trumbell, CT and Mildred Pedro of Granville, NY, many nephews and nieces.

Norman was born in Worcester on March 29, 1929, son of Norman A. Tisdell, Sr. and Mildred (Roach) Tisdell, graduated from Commerce High School and lived here all of his life. He retired as Master Sgt. after serving twenty-three years in the Army National Guard. . Norman worked at Dacor Bricks for twelve years and Sears & Roebucks as sporting goods manager for 19 years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and an honorary member of the Alhambra Council #88 Knights of Columbus. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family at Cape Cod and walking the long beaches looking for seashells to line his garden at home. His family will miss him very much.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 20 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St., with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday, March 19 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Asera Care Hospice, 40 Washington St., Wellesley Hills, MA 02481 or to the Golden Living Center at the Hermitage, Alzheimer’s Unit, 383 Mill St., Worcester, MA 01602.
