Obituary

LOWELL - Eunice R. "Rita" (Shatford) Trudel, 85, of Dracut, died Friday March 16th in Lowell. She was the wife of the late George J. "Jack" Trudel, who died in 1975.

Born in Boston on September 26, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Hilda (Shatford) Pickering. She was educated in Boston area schools. She worked at Robie Shoe Company and Commodore Foods until 1983. After retiring, Rita became active at the Dracut Senior Citizen Center where she was a corresponding secretary. She was also a member of the Dracut Friends of the Elderly.

Mrs. Trudel enjoyed crocheting and had a remarkable talent for the lost craft of tatting. She had a great love of all animals but was most fond of her beloved cat.

She is survived by a sister Jewel Dumont and her husband Leo of Dunstable, a brother Ken Pickering and his wife Alison of Needham, Four nieces Kerry Dumont, Kristel Dumont, Kara Barnaby, and Emilie Pickering, as well as numerous dear friends.
