Margaret M. (Doyle) O’Donnell of Needham formerly of Brighton, died Thurs March 15, 2007 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Needham Campus. She was 84.
Born and raised in Boston she graduated from Roslindale High School and Boston Business School. She was an active member of St. Gabriel’s Parish in Brighton where she served on the parish council, the Mothers Club and was a Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout den mother. She enjoyed knitting and sewing.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years John B. O’Donnell Jr., her children Peggy Conlin and her husband Paul of Woburn, Ellen O’Donnell of Needham, John B. O’Donnell III of Stoneham, and Peter F. O’Donnell of Melrose. She is also survived by her grandchildren Paul Jr., Sean, Katelyn, Jim, John B. IV, Cheryl, Richard, David, April, Casey and Stephanie. She was a second mother of Kathleen Darcy and her husband John of Winchester. Margaret was the sister of the late Anne Lamb and Alice Burbank and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will gather at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave. Needham on Mon March 19 at 9:30 AM and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church Needham at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery West Roxbury. Visiting hours will be in the funeral home on Sun 4-8 PM.
