Mitchell, Captain Edward L., Jr. of Hull October 29, 2002.

Beloved husband of Theresa V. (Corbett) Mitchell of Hull. Loving father of Francis & his wife Shelley Mitchell of South Portland, ME and James Mitchell of Los Angeles, CA. Grandfather of Taysia, Paizley & Skylar. Brother of William T. Mitchell of Boston and Barbara Heinz of Norwood. Also survived by several nieces & nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM Monday at 8 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann's Church, Hull at 9 AM.

Visiting hours Sunday 4-7 PM.

Cremation will follow.

Captain Mitchell served in the Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater. Upon entering the service, he sailed on the 2nd Lexington along with his father. He was also in the Merchant Marine during the Korean Conflict. In 1959 he began his career as a Harbor Pilot for the Boston Pilot Association. He retired in 1992. During the 1970's, he was very active as a coach and volunteer for Hull Youth Hockey. A member of the Hull VFW, he loved the ocean, fishing, boating, swimming and sports. He will be remembered as a generous and compassionate man who always put others ahead of himself.
