Catherine (Delsordo) Adelizzi, a 7 year resident of Wakefield and formerly of East Boston, died on Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at Woodbriar of Wilmington Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. She was 92 years old.
Catherine was born in Boston on May 11, 1914. She grew up in East Boston where she attended Boston Public Schools. Catherine worked as a supervisor for many years at J.P. Lewis Company a candy company. She was a member of the Womens Lodge of Sons of Italy in Beachmont and a member of Stoneham Senior Center. She was also a homemaker taking care of her family.
Catherine is the beloved wife of the late Dante L. Adelizzi. She is the devoted mother of Danna L. Buono and her husband Christopher of Wakefield. She is the loving grandmother of Tia Buono of North Billerica. She is the sister of Ralph Delsordo of Hooksett, N.H. and the late Philomena Mirisola and Ernestine Delsordo.
Catherine's Funeral will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2007, at 9 a.m. from the Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main Street, Melrose/Wakefield, line followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Joseph's Church, 173 Albion Street, Wakefield, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours for Catherine will be held on Friday, March 16, 2007, from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will take place at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
