Gertrude M. (Godek) Urban of Needham, a former resident of Sharon and Chicago died on Saturday, March 10th at home. She was 88 years old. Born and raised in Chicago, the daughter of the late Francis and Katherine (Radzik), Gertrude attended Holy Trinity School. She lived in Chicago until 1980, when she moved to Sharon. In 2003, Gertrude moved to Needham. She was the bookkeeper for Urban & Associates Inc. of Sharon for more than 20 years. The beloved wife of the late George J. Urban she was the dear mother of Christine D. Urban and her husband Lynn R. Howard of Needham. Sister of Edwin Godek of Chicago, IL and Clare Kubik of Mundelein, IL and the late Chester Godek. Gertrude is also survived by her granddaughters Elizabeth Urban Howard, Anastasia Urban Howard and her granddaughter at heart Akmaral Arzybaeva all of Needham as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Friday, March 16 at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 5-8 PM. Interment at Rock Ridge Cemetery in Sharon.
