Obituary

Roger H. Montbleau, 75, of Derry, NH died Thursday, March 8, 2007 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. He was born in Lowell, MA on May 15, 1931, a son of the late Henry and Yvonne (Savarie) Montbleau. Raised in Lowell, he resided there until moving to Derry 21 years ago. He also lived in Hudson, NH for a brief period. Mr. Montbleau was employed as a shoe worker at several shoe shops in Lowell and served as a Reserve Police Officer in the Lowell Police department. He was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry and held membership in the American Legion Post #48 of Hudson. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather. He served his country in the Army National Guard of Massachusetts.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Florence (Durand) Montbleau of Derry; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Sharon) Kurowski of Goffstown, NH; two sons, Richard Montbleau of Dracut, MA and Leo Dalphond of Manchester, NH; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was the sole surviving child in a family of eight.

Calling hours were on Monday, March 12th from 4 to 8 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry.
