Phyllis M. Tavanese, a long-time Medford resident, died after a long illness at the Park Avenue Nursing Home. She was 89.
Mrs. Tavanese was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Carmen and the late Louisa (Capuccio) DeLeo. Phyllis was a dedicated wife, mother and friend to many.
She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony J. Tavanese. She was a devoted mother to Robert Tavanese of Medford, Angela DiBenedetto and her husband Jackie of Medford. She was a loving grandmother to Nicole DiBenedetto of Medford. She was the sister of Anthony DeLeo of Hull, Fred DeLeo of Braintree, Mary Colleameno of Boston, and Carmella Natorelli of Medford. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday from 4 thru 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. On Monday morning at 10 a Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Joseph Church, Medford, with the Rev. Paul Flammia, presiding. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
