Jessie M. (MacKay) Kachianes of Needham died on Tuesday, March 6th at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She was 96 years old. Born in North Attleboro, the daughter of the late Daniel D. and Collina (MacDonald) MacKay, Jessie was raised in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. She worked as a tester for the Raytheon Corp before becoming a Nurses Aid at the Stone Institute in Newton Upper Fall. Mrs. Kachianes retired from the Stone Institute after 33 years. She was a dear friend to all her family and many friends. The loving wife of the late Gerasimos Kachianes she was the devoted mother of Colene Dodsworth and her husband Merle of Belfast, PEI. Dear sister of Esther F. MacKay of Needham and the late William A. MacKay. Loving grandmother of David Dodsworth and his wife Jane of Medway and Jerrilyn Rinaldi and her husband David of North Reading. Dear great grandmother of Adam, Samuel, Zachary and Nicholas. Great great grannie of Trinity. A Memorial Service will be held at the Needham Presbyterian Church, 1458 Great Plain Ave Needham on Friday, March 9at 2:00 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Thursday from 5-7 PM. Private interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Brighton. In lieu of flowers donations in Jessie’s name may be made to the Needham Presbyterian Church.
