Antonio M. Almeida, aged 46, suffered a brain hemorrhage and died on March 3, 2007 while traveling on business in Louisville, KY. He was the husband of Maria J. (Furtado) Almeida of Dartmouth. He was the father of Michael Almeida of Dartmouth, Lisa M. Fraga and husband, Tim Fraga of New Bedford and Christina Almeida of New Bedford. He was excited to be a first time grandfather this spring. He was the brother of Ana Medeiros of Acushnet and Grace Costa of New Bedford. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Almeida was the son of the late Maria Natalia (Estereiro) and Gil De Almeida. He was born in Agua De Pau, Sao Miguel, Azores and lived in this area since the age of 12. He was the owner and operator of Sci Tech Construction Company, Inc. Tony loved the water and was an avid fisherman and he loved spending time with his family.
Mr. Almeida’s Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth Street. A mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on Saturday at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are on Friday from 5:00-8:00 PM. He will be buried at St. John Cemetery.
