Manuel G. Nobrega. Age 91. Husband of the late Mary (Souza) Nobrega.Residence 546 South St. East, Raynham, MA formerly of Essex St. and Oregon St., Fall River, MA. Died Monday at Lifecare of Raynham. Born in Fall River, MA. Son of the late Antonio Gomes Nobrega and the late Angelina (Faria) Nobrega. He was a resident of Raynham since Nov. 2003, previously he resided in Fall River. Before retiring, he worked putting soles on sneakers at Converse Rubber Factory in Bristol. Previously, he worked at the Sagamore Mills. He was a member of the North Tiverton Band. Prior to being stricken by illness, he enjoyed working in his yard and walking. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and Notre Dame football fan. He enjoyed music, especially Big Band music. He previously resided on Oregon St. for over 50 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II. He was a member of St. Michael Church.
He is survived by 1 Brother: Antone and his wife Olga Nobrega, 1 Sister: Theresa Lambert and 4 Godsons: Glenn Proto, Justin Proto, Bruce Estrella, and Edgar Rebelo.Several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Laura Nobrega and Constance Souza.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home,1521 N. Main St. Friday at 7:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church, Essex St., Fall River, MA at 8:45 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 4-7 P.M.
