SOUTH YARMOUTH-Mary M. (McClune) O’Connor, 66, of South Yarmouth, formerly of Worcester, died Sunday, March 4th in her home. Her husband of 33 years, John J. O’Connor died in 1994. She leaves 2 sons, John B. and his wife, Janice O’Connor of Dennisport and Daniel T. O’Connor and his companion Dorothy Alves of Worcester; 2 daughters, Mary Frances wife of John Kroyak of Dennisport and Jamie J. O’Connor and her companion John Talin of Yarmouth; 2 brothers, William J. McClune, Jr., his wife Debra and James A. and his wife Maryellen McClune all of Worcester; a sister Kathleen R. wife of Lewis Burnett of Crossville, TN; 6 grandchildren, Matthew, Kayleen, Bruce, Robert, Patrick and Paul; and many nephews and nieces. A grandson Brian predeceased her. She also leaves life long friends, James Doyle, Roberta Marley and Sheila Prisco.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of William J. and Rita M. (Quinn) McClune and lived in Worcester most of her life before moving to South Yarmouth. Mrs. O’Connor was a graduate of St. Peter’s High School and had worked for the City of Worcester CETA Program as a secretary she later worked at the former Adcare Hospital. She was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish.
The funeral is Friday, March 9th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding Street, Worcester. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, March 8th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
