Obituary
Lois M. (Brown) Emord died Monday morning at the University Medical Center in Lebanon, TN after a lengthy illness. Born in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Gunhild (Johnson) Brown. Lois had been a lifelong resident of Brockton until moving to Tennessee a few years ago. She was a graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1945 and received her degree as a Registered Nurse in 1949 from the Faulkner Hospital School of Nursing. She had been employed as a registered nurse in the Phaneuf and Goddard Hospitals in Brockton and retired from Goddard Memorial Hospital in Stoughton in 1977. For 12 years she had been a Den Mother for Packs 11 and 14 and Committee Chairperson for Explorer Post 101 B.S.A. For many years Lois had been active with her husband Joseph with the American Legion Post 35 and had been a member of the Posts’ Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, knitting and sewing.
She is survived by her children Joseph L. Emord, Jr. and Thomas F. Emord both of Carver, Richard J. Emord of Middleboro and Margaret M. Fay of Lebanon, TN, seven grandchildren Katelyn DesRoche, Leslie Emord, Daniel Emord, James Emord, David Emord, Michael Emord and Michael Fay, Jr, one great granddaughter Emerson Dwyer and her sister Judith Henderson of Colorado. She was the wife of the late Joseph L. Emord, Sr. and mother of the late Catherine L. DesRoche.
