Obituary

WORCESTER-Shirley B. (Fuller) Robbins, 83, of Worcester, passed away Sunday, March 4th, in her home after a battle with lung cancer. She leaves her husband of 62 years, William R. Robbins Sr.; a son, William R. Robbins Jr. of Rutland; a daughter, Wendy E. Bosse and her husband Donald of Brookfield; a sister, Jean O. Burbank of Scottsville, NY; 5 grandchildren, Tracey, Todd, Tami, Derek and Lisa; 6 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces; and several close lifelong girlfriends she had since grammar school known as the Kappa Mu’s.

She was born in Worcester, the daughter of William and Ethel (Thresher) Fuller and graduated from David Hale Fanning Girls Trade School. An active member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, she served in its Women’s Fellowship Group, Worship Commission and choir. She belonged to the Tuesday Afternoon Bowling League at the Colonial Bowling Alley and the Wednesday Morning Breakfast Club and at one time, volunteered and was a chairperson for the United Way. Shirley enjoyed cooking and bowling, and was most attentive to her family, church and friends. Her family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Auburn Visiting Nurses Association and the Worcester VNA Care Hospice for their kindness, support and compassion.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 8th, in Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1048 Main Street. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 1048 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01603. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, is directing arrangements.
