Obituary


AUBURN- Eileen (Hayes) Atchue, 77, of Auburn, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 3 after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Her husband Wallace W. Atchue died in 1979. She leaves three children, a son Wayne W. Atchue and his wife Kristen of Worcester who were her caregivers, two daughters, Mary and her husband Roger Fassett of Worcester, and Jane Denault of Auburn, six grandchildren, Edward Derosier, Sherri Denault, Stephanie, Samantha and Erin Atchue and Matthew Proulx, a great granddaughter, Arianna Denault and three step grandchildren, William, Christal and Carrieann Fassett. She also leaves three sisters, Patricia A., wife of Leonard E. Vaudreuil of Shrewsbury, Rita G. Perry of Worcester and Margaret T., wife of Robert L. Tuttle of Worcester; five brothers, George Hayes and his wife Patricia, John Hayes and his wife Barbara and William Hayes all of Shrewsbury, Daniel Hayes and his wife Dorothy of St. Petersburg, FL, and Edmond Hayes and his wife Barbara of Shrewsbury, many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a daughter June, a brother Patrick J. Hayes, Jr., two sisters, Mary P. and M. Theresa, her twin.

She was born in Shrewsbury daughter of the late Patrick J. and Delia (Corcoran) Hayes and lived in Auburn for the past fifty years. Eileen enjoyed her trips to Las Vegas and Foxwoods and was a regular with her Bingo Buddies on Thursday evening. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.

The funeral will be Tuesday, March 6 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10:00 AM in North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Drive. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Visiting hours will be Monday, March 5 from 5:00–8:00 PM in the funeral home.
